About The Position

Aquatics Programmer(Seasonal)- Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department City of Watertown has an opening for a Seasonal Aquatics Programmer to help the City of Watertown Recreation team! The Full-Time Seasonal Aquatic Programmer supports the planning, promotion, and supervision of aquatic programs for the City of Watertown. Working under the direction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry, this position assists in program operations, staff supervision, and community engagement during the seasonal peak periods. Reports to the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry. Assists in administering aquatic and recreational programs and provides supervisory support to program personnel including lifeguards, instructors, volunteers, and concessions staff and ensuring staff follow safety and operational procedures during programs. This position will be responsible for maintaining basic records for attendance, revenue, and program participation in addition to supporting payroll processing. Candidates will be point of contact for facility needs and to notify maintenance staff when needed. The selected candidate must have able to obtain the following certifications at the time of hire: Food Manager License, Lifeguard (Instructor Trainer preferred), American Red Cross CPR Instructor or American Heart Association Instructor certification. Certifications preferred but not required on first day of Certified Pool & Spa Operator or Aquatic Facilities Operator Certification, WSI (Instructor Trainer preferred). Starting compensation is $27.20. This is a seasonal position that will range from 30-40 hours during the peak season; not benefit eligible. Hours that vary to include nights and weekends as department programs require.
