About The Position

Aquatic Informatics (AQI) is a mission-driven software company that organizes the world’s water data to make it accessible and useful. We provide software solutions that address critical water data management, analytics, and compliance challenges for the rapidly growing water industry. Water monitoring agencies worldwide trust us to acquire, process, model, and publish water information in real time. We offer a full range of solutions, from standalone software packages for individual users, hosted software services, and enterprise-wide national systems. We serve over 1,000 municipal, federal, state/provincial, hydropower, mining, academic, and consulting organizations in over 60 countries that collect, manage, and process large volumes of water data. The B2B Field Sales position is the primary front line sales representative for AQI. You are vital to our company's ability to deliver customer value and drive accelerated growth. You will build and foster relationships with prospective new customers and help them solve their toughest water monitoring challenges. This is a quota-carrying field sales position with travel expectations of 50% in the territory. Territory is Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Ontario (Canada). You must live within a reasonable commute of a large airport.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in water industry or adjacent sales.
  • Demonstrated success in a quota-carrying role, preferably in a B2B field sales role.
  • Self-starter and teammate motivated to succeed.
  • Superior customer relationship skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to learn new software applications quickly.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the environmental and/or water industry.
  • Consultative solutions-based sales or direct sales experience.
  • Experience with SalesForce as a CRM.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead to close.
  • Share knowledge of customer challenges with product teams.
  • Develop meaningful customer relationships focused on driving value.
