About The Position

The Aquatic Fitness Instructor is responsible for instructing a variety of aquatic exercise classes as well as choreographing routines and coordinating music. This position requires the ability to deliver safe and effective group exercise instruction to class participants with varying fitness levels. Plans and teaches correct fitness methods in a logical progression, demonstrating the ability to develop various workout routines to include the use of equipment, ongoing motivation, and feedback regarding proper execution of movements. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CPR Certification including Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
  • Two years teaching experience as a water aerobics instructor
  • Aquatic Exercise Association Instructor Certification or equivalent training

  • Adheres to regulations, policies and standards of practice for safety, infection control, and accident and injury prevention
  • Educates participants on safe exercise techniques and provides feedback regarding proper execution of movements and equipment usage
  • Choreographs and instructs aquatic exercise classes using safe fitness techniques and appropriate equipment and music selections, taking into consideration class description, pool environment, and target population
  • Participates in equipment management, set up, use, care, storage, and maintenance
