About The Position

The Schweitzer Wellbeing Center is seeking a certified aquatic fitness instructor to lead engaging water-based group classes. In this role, you will design and deliver safe, effective, and creative workouts tailored to participants of all fitness levels, while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Current Group Fitness Instructor or Certified Personal Trainer certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM, NETA), or a specialty certification relevant to the class format being taught (e.g., AEA, Zumba , Yoga Alliance, Les Mills).
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead classes with enthusiasm, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
  • Negative drug test result(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching aquatic and/or land-based group fitness classes.
  • Background working with older adults or special populations.
  • Familiarity with wellness programming and holistic health principles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead fitness classes, including aquatic and/or land-based formats.
  • Design and deliver creative, safe, and effective workouts tailored to a range of fitness levels and abilities.
  • Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate participants with varying needs.
  • While on shift, ensure equipment is in proper working condition and is properly utilized by patrons.
  • Foster a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages member participation and retention.
  • Monitor participant safety and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
