The APU Manufacturing Manager at Nemera is responsible for leading both technical and non-technical teams in the continuous improvement of safety, quality, and productivity within the manufacturing environment. This role involves overseeing production operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and fostering strong relationships with internal staff and key customers. The manager will implement lean manufacturing techniques to enhance operational efficiency and will be involved in strategic planning and budget management.

  • Direct, instruct, train, and supervise Plant Production/APU personnel.
  • Create production operations that promote customer quality and delivery satisfaction.
  • Organize and lead programs to continuously improve production operation with respect to productivity, quality, safety, inventory levels and operating expense while utilizing lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Provide a safe working environment for all employees and actively participate in the plant safety committee and programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal staff and key customers.
  • Serve as point of contact between Nemera plants ensuring conformity to standards and leverage best practices as developed.
  • Coordinate Lean Community exchanges between the Nemera plants to drive common Global projects/methodologies and share ongoing projects/savings ideas.
  • Perform Plant Lean Audits in each Nemera plant together with Plant Continuous Improvement/Lean Manager.
  • Manage, report, document and plan production performance, continuous improvement activities, action plans, strategic plans, and employee utilization.
  • Ensure thorough production process Root Cause analysis and any required Corrective Actions are completed on a timely basis.
  • Develop/maintain annual capital budget to achieve financial objectives are met as well as scheduling expenditures, compiling, and studying costs, initiating corrective actions where required.
  • Evaluate financial implication of changes made in the operation, with objective of achieving maximum profitability.
  • Assure compliance with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standards, with all other applicable regulations as well as all company & plant policies.
  • Develop personnel to grow and assume greater responsibilities that fit into a succession plan for future growth.
  • Support plant layout transformation and new asset delivery projects to ensure a smooth transition and ramp-up to production.
  • Ensure IT systems adherence to standards and escalate as need requires.
  • Facilitate teamwork and promote collaboration across departments and central functions.
  • Implement programs and procedures required for plant cleanliness.
  • Ensure smooth cooperation for industrialization project (e.g.: PQ, NPI stages) and interfaces for escalation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing and additional 3 to 5 years of management experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs, and stand and walk up to 80% of shift.
  • Ability to coach and mentor on an individual and group basis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-task environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively present information and professionally respond to questions from staff, leadership, customers, and suppliers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Injection Molding and Medical Device manufacturing experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • SAP experience.
