Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world’s most powerful jet engines, is seeking a dedicated Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Technical Publications Specialist to join our Military Customer Support and Sustainment (MCS&S) division. This role focuses on developing APU maintenance data in accordance with ATA 2200 and S1000D industry standards to support APU maintenance actions, configuration changes, and data delivery to airframers, operators, and overhaul shops. Work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment with opportunities for growth within a multi-disciplinary technical publications’ organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field with 5+ years of engine technical publications and associated deliverables. Experience to include: S1000D and ATA specifications, demonstrated success in managing projects and proficiency with MS Office suite and collaboration tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • 10% travel to customer and suppliers’ sites both foreign and domestic.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5+ years of experience in engine maintenance/logistics.
  • Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulatory requirements and industry specifications as they pertain to technical publications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; strong adaptability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Master’s degree in business or technical field (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and management of new and revised technical data deliverables for commercial and military APU programs which include Engine Manuals (EM), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Service Bulletins (SB), and Action Items (AI).
  • Interact with key stakeholders within Pratt & Whitney (P&W), both internal and external, as part of a cross-functional team, including program management, engineering, quality, supplier management, finance, Global Trade, and original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
  • Coordinate the publication revision process, SOW development, outsourcing coordination, and oversee the technical data through publication and delivery.
  • Establish and maintain publication schedules to ensure timely, accurate deliverables
  • Review technical manuals for discrepancies and errors; instill quality through the review process.
  • Capture, analyze, and report delivery performance and quality metrics for internal resources and supplier networks
  • Provide status updates and budget reporting to the Technical Publications Manager.
  • Initiate and drive continuous process improvement initiatives including development of standard work documents.
