About The Position

An APSS Install Technician (IT) is responsible for post-sale installation, service, and support of all systems and solutions sold by Arkansas Public Safety Solutions (APSS). This role includes installing, programming, servicing, and troubleshooting security and life-safety systems for Government, Enterprise, and Education customers. The IT frequently works independently, manages daily workloads to meet project timelines, and serves as a primary onsite representative to customers. Professionalism, technical competence, and strong communication skills are essential. This position participates in an on-call rotation and requires extensive travel.

  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new APSS-supported technologies
  • Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background screening and Motor Vehicle Report for favorable results to be considered for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant technical experience and certifications preferred
  • Avigilon ACC and ACM (Subject Matter Expert level preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities for onsite coordination when assigned

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and troubleshoot Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Access Control Management (ACM), BDA/DAS, Weapons Detection, and related APSS solutions.
  • Pull, terminate, label, and test cabling; mount devices; and ensure all equipment is installed per APSS design and implementation plans.
  • Complete system programming, provisioning, analytics configuration, and commissioning prior to site turnover.
  • Install cameras, servers, access control hardware (strikes, cans, mercury boards), backhaul equipment, and associated infrastructure.
  • Provide customer training and support successful system turnover.
  • Support the PMO during post-sale by providing technical input into implementation plans, install preferences, and scope changes.
  • Respond to service calls and reprioritize work as required.
  • Communicate scope changes, technical risks, or site constraints to PMO, Sales, and Management.
  • Maintain complete ownership of project documentation, including version control and as-built documentation.
  • Conduct QA site visits to mitigate rework and support continuous improvement of field installations.
  • Stay current with APSS product offerings, technical options, and required trainings.
  • Support inventory management and proper use of tools, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Participate in weekly update and project management calls.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and extended work hours when required to meet project demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by APSS management.
