An APRN/PA manifests a high level of expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating actual and potential health problems of pediatric patients and their families. An APRN/PA possesses an advanced knowledge level, skill, and competence in the provision of care to specific patient and family populations and serves across the care continuum as a clinical resource for patients, families, staff, and the community. Work hours: Monday-Friday 8-4:30; no weekends, holidays, or nights This position will be located at our ACH Campus in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Requirements

  • APRN: Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing.
  • National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.

Nice To Haves

  • May have a certification as a Pediatric Nurse practitioner in either acute or primary care
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical services for patients according to established protocols and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician.
  • Obtain patient health histories, complete physical examinations, and interpret hemodynamic data. Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
  • Formulate and implement a treatment plan for the management of acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with the physician. Document in medical records appropriately.
  • Provide family-centered care to meet the child’s health care needs.
  • Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice.
  • Participate in staff education and educate other APRN/PA students, residents, and/or fellows.
  • Provide leadership and professional interaction within your team or to team members.
  • Coordinate with families the care and progress of their child in person, by telephone, or by email as appropriate.
  • Communicate with others with mutual respect and professional demeanor.
  • Adhere to all standard policies and procedures.
  • Participate in QI or research projects as deemed necessary by your department.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
