About The Position

The Children’s Mercy Division of Emergency Medicine provides the highest level care to sick and injured children and adolescents in the Kansas City region. The ED APRN will staff day shifts and evening shifts, with sporadic overnight coverage within one of the two emergency departments. All shifts will be 10 hours - 3 shifts per week. They will work as part of a team to provide high level care for children, birth-18 years, with a variety of chief medical complaints. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse I (APRN-I) provides comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree and 1-2 years pediatric APRN experience with Masters, or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) with 1-2 years pediatric APRN experience.
  • Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire.
  • Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire.
  • APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting required upon hire.
  • Acute Care PNP will be required.
  • Successful completion of national board certification in one of the following: Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) in MO & KS, or Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist required upon hire.
