About The Position

Millennium Physician Group is seeking to hire full time APRN/Physician Assistant to join the Primary Care walk in clinic team in the Port Charlotte, FL area. We are looking for a new team member who is positive, energetic, well-organized, has the ability to multi-task, and think outside of the box. We want someone who supports our top initiative of ensuring an excellent patient experience. Advanced providers focus on assessments to care for our patients. Physician Assistants/APRN's work under the supervision of a licensed physician. You will be responsible for ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. You will diagnosis and treat both acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infections and injuries. You will also prescribe medications and other treatments as well as manage our patient's overall well-being (comprehensive care). You are expected to consult with the supervising Physician on any complicated diagnoses and make treatment decisions collectively. You may in some cases take the office overflow of patients or may build your own "practice". Depending on patient load, you may have a medical assistant to assist with patient care and follow-up. Requirements

  • Florida APRN or PA License & Board Certification
  • Current active Florida License as Physician Assistant/ARNP required
  • Fifth year college or university program degree required

Nice To Haves

  • Athena knowledge preferred but not required
  • two or more years related experience and/or training preferred
  • CPR/BLS certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance
