Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in nursing /PA studies (Acute Care Certification)
  • 2 years exp preferred
  • Licensed Registered Nurse; APRN/PA license
  • Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire.
  • BLS

Responsibilities

  • The APRN/Physician Assistant, (PA), will assist physician with clinic, organizing visits and performing clinic procedures, assist in the operating room, answer pages and round on post-operative patients on a daily and PRN basis.
  • The PA will augment a physician's ability to provide medical services to patients; collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations and provide direct patient care services.
  • Consults with physicians and other health professionals when needed.
  • Follows up on the client by phone calls, rounds, scheduled visits, and lab results
  • Promotes optimal health of the patient by including preventive and health promotion activities into the plan of care and participating in clinical pathway development and quality management activities.
  • Participates as a team member in patient care conferences with other health disciplines, and in clinical case conferences and other department/campus meetings
  • Obtains a relevant health and medical history, performs a comprehensive physician examination, identifies health risks and needs, updates and records changes in health status, and assesses mental and functional status
  • Performs other duties as needed.
