Requirements

  • APRN: Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing.
  • National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • May have a certification as a Pediatric Nurse practitioner in either acute or primary care.
  • Current RN license and APRN license in the State of Arkansas .
  • Prescriptive authority and DEA license (must be obtained post-hire).
  • PA: Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program defined by the Arkansas State Medical Board.
  • Current Arkansas Physician Assistant license.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Two (2) years of experience as an APRN in an inpatient hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories and physical exams.
  • Identify medical risks, order diagnostics, prescribe treatments, and educate patients/families.
  • Provide inpatient care by managing labs, medications, procedures, and discharge planning.
  • Conduct pre-operative evaluations, obtain consent, assist in surgery, and coordinate OR scheduling and follow-up.
  • Participate in surgical conferences; instruct medical students, residents, and nursing staff.
  • Assist with clinical data collection and patient enrollment for research protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
