This position will hire either an APRN or PA The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant works collaboratively with a physician and multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to outpatients. The APRN/PA is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.

Requirements

• APRN: Master’s Degree in Nursing – Family Medicine
• Three (3) years of nursing experience.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
• APRN License
• 1 year of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Endocrinology
• PA: Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant
• 1 year of PA experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Endocrinology clinic
• PA license

Nice To Haves

• APRN: DNP
• 3 years of nursing experience
• 3 years of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic, or Endocrinology
• PA: 3 years of PA experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic, or an Endocrinology clinic

Responsibilities

• Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
• Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
• Work autonomously, as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
• Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, and assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
• Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
• Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
• Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.
