This position will hire either an APRN or PA The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant will assist the physician with surgery, clinic, organizing visits, and performing clinic procedures, care coordination of patients, and work as an independent care provider within the clinic and hospital. Answer in-basket, MyChart, and patient questions, and work in collaboration with the physician to facilitate patients assigned with an MD. The APRN/PA will be responsible for managing the care of inpatients and/or outpatients, answering telephone inquiries, and filling prescriptions. The APRN/PA must have a high level of expertise to perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems of patients.

Requirements

  • APRN: Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
  • APRN License
  • Acute Care Certification
  • PA: Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant
  • PA License
  • Acute Care Certification

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates specialized, multidisciplinary care and facilitates consults of patients to ensure timely and appropriate treatment.
  • Provides comprehensive health assessments, determines diagnoses, implements treatment plans, prescribes medical treatments, and manages health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician.
  • Collaborates with a variety of health care professionals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems, serving as a resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
  • Manages post procedure immunosuppression and labs of the patient in coordination with the physician and pharmacist.
  • Participates in institutional initiatives and encourages the participation of others.
  • Collaborates in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation using best practices in delivering quality service.
  • Edits and documents results in various critical care systems
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
