Requirements

  • Master's Degree and 1-2 years experience.
  • 1-2 years pediatric APRN experience with Masters.
  • Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred and 1-2 years experience.
  • Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire.
  • Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire.
  • APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting.
  • Successful completion of national board certification as Certified Nurse Midwife or Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) in MO & KS or Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Life Support Certifications required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s patient population.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high level care for children, birth-18 years, with a variety of chief medical complaints.
  • Complete thorough history and physical assessments.
  • Order and interpret lab tests.
  • Develop differential diagnosis.
  • Implement plans of care and coordinate the disposition process.
  • Work effectively with the medical team by communicating clearly with families.
  • Collaborate with urgent care physicians and multiple subspecialties.
  • Participate in evidenced-based practice, quality improvement, and/or research activities.
  • Influence organizational policy to achieve and sustain practice improvements.
