The Ward Family Heart Center at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is the premier high-volume pediatric heart program in the Midwest. Our focused, interdisciplinary care of children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease brings to bear the expertise of board-certified pediatric cardiologists, congenital cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiac intensivists, anesthesiologists, and advanced practice pediatric critical care nurses. Our facilities include a new state-of-the-art Cardiac Intensive Care unit in 2021 and the most advanced technology available for diagnosis, treatment, and translational research for our patients, who range in age from fetal to young adult. The Heart Failure/Heart Transplant APRN participates in the day to day care and management of patients with heart failure and those who are pre and post heart transplant in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The APRN will be expected to take active part in the inpatient HF/HT service as well as clinic patients in the outpatient setting. The APRN will take call on a rotating basis with the physician providers.
