About The Position

The Apprenticeship Consultant supports the DAS staff in the program application process for Apprenticeship, On-the-Job Training, Journey person Upgrade and Pre-Apprenticeship Programs, by reviewing applications and training DAS staff on the application processes. This position is located at 464 W. 4th St. Ste 234A, San Bernardino, CA 92401, and may require working from other locations throughout California as needed, including working from home if provided with proper office equipment. The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting that is in an air-conditioned, multiple-floor building with elevator access, and contains cubicles with natural and artificial lighting. Typical conditions include office tools such as a computer, being in a stationary position for long periods of time and/or driving; typical office/vehicle noise and/or vibration; may encounter inclement weather.

Requirements

• Three years of experience in promoting and development of apprenticeship or other on-the-job training programs.
• Knowledge of State civil service hiring practices.
• Proficient grammar and written/verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for employment relations work.
• Understanding of the needs and problems of workers and minority people.
• Organizational and time management skills.
