About the position

The Apprentice Swimming Pool Maintenance and Service Technician role at The Pool Store, Inc. is a full-time position designed for individuals looking to develop their skills in pool maintenance through a comprehensive apprenticeship program. This position offers on-the-job training and educational courses in partnership with the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), aiming to cultivate skilled technicians proficient in maintaining and servicing swimming pools.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine maintenance and repairs on pool equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve pool system issues.
• Maintain pool cleanliness and surface quality.
• Test and adjust water chemistry for optimal balance.
• Record maintenance activities and chemical adjustments accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service, responding effectively to inquiries.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass any necessary substance abuse screening as required by the employer.
• Physical capability to perform the duties of a pool and hot tub maintenance technician.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic understanding of pool maintenance and service is a plus.
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience as a Pool Technician preferred, but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with hand tools used in pool maintenance.
