About The Position

Eligibility: This Summer Internship opportunity is available to First-Year Technical College students pursuing an electrical career path. An electrical apprentice installs, upgrades, renovates and completes other assigned electrical duties to produce the product requested by an owner or general contractor and under direction from a licensed Journeyman.

Requirements

• Hold and maintain the state apprentice license.
• Have an OSHA-10 hour Construction Certification before beginning work on a site or the pre-fabrication workshop.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Attend continuing education classes to maintain apprentice license.

Nice To Haves

• Enrollment in/completion of an electrical trade school program.
• Knowledge of hand/power tools, how to read meters and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Installation of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
• Measure, cut and bend conduit.
• Trace out short circuits in wiring.
• Make minor electrical repairs.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Work with the Foreman to set daily goals.
• Performs work in accordance with the National Electrical Code in a workmanlike manner.
