About The Position

An Apprentice Plumber is becoming a skilled professional with both classroom learning and on-the-job training. You gain everything you need for career success. You’ll create with your hands, working outdoors in different environments, and can tell your family and friends 'I helped build that'. Do you have Apprentice credits from somewhere else? They may transfer to our certified NCCER program. Classes begin in August 2025, but you can start working immediately. Military Veterans are encouraged to apply! Our Apprentice school qualifies for the GI Bill!

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience using hand tools and a tape measure is a plus.
  • Ability to keep a drug-free workplace.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Basic 'tape measure math' skills.
  • Ability to work in extremes of heat, cold, and bad weather, indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday, and lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work efficiently in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.
  • Exercise fine motor control, with good vision and excellent hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely no matter what; safety is our highest priority.
  • Learn to lay out and install commercial pipes in a wide variety of job settings.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles.
  • Build and install hangers to hold material in place.
  • Work at heights, from ladders, lifts, or roofs.
  • Assist with installing plumbing fixtures.
  • Learn to use a variety of power & hand tools.
  • Complete classes online, and at-home study with skills and textbook learning.
