About The Position

The Nuclear Pharmacy at Cardinal Health is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines. The pharmacy also consults with or advises physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. The Apprentice, Nuclear Pharmacy will be trained as a nuclear pharmacy technician and will eventually advance to the skills and tasks of a pharmacist.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an accredited school of pharmacy
• Pharmacy intern license
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds or more
• Flexibility to work various days, schedules and hours as needed
• Ability to use computers and tablets

Responsibilities

• Assisting in preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals in keeping with the prescription and Company, State and Federal regulations
• Assisting in providing follow up service to the client or health care provider on an as needed basis
• Entering data regarding daily elutions, kit preparations, and incoming inventory into computer
• Verifying physical inventory with computer records
• Maintaining lab equipment by performing checks and tests on a regular basis
• Performing other duties as required to ensure a safe and efficient pharmacy operation
