About The Position

We’re seeking an Apprentice Fitter to join our Moorabbin Plastics Plant. This is a full-time permanent role on a day shift 6am – 2.30pm. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely. About Visy Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing and recycling. Over 75 years, we've grown to 7,000 employees and 150 global operations –predominately in Australia and New Zealand. We believe materials are not recycled until they’ve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals from households and businesses, and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging. Requirements

• Any level of experience, from 1 st year through to 4 th year.
• Mechanically minded and interested in hands-on tasks.
• Passion for your trade and willingness to learn.
• A proactive attitude and commitment to safety.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Working under the supervision of qualified Fitters to complete routine maintenance tasks.
• Attending TAFE and completing coursework to complete your apprenticeship.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing.
