Print is around you....every where, every day. It is the packaging in your grocery stores, your currency and credit cards in your wallet, your signage in your big box retail stores. Print is on your soda cans, your perfume bottles, your data cables, your prescription drug packaging. It is endless and growing. Koenig & Bauer, one of the largest printing press manufacturers in the world, is proud to be a leader in the industry. This is a unique and limited apprenticeship program designed to take recent graduates with a minimum of a technical certification or two-year related college degree and provide them with up to 24 months of paid intensive training to prepare them for a career as a Field Service Technician with Koenig & Bauer in the United States. This training program will include hands-on field training in the United States,; classroom and bench training at our Apprenticeship School at our factory in Germany; specialized product, job, and industry training in our world-class training center in Germany; work experience in our manufacturing facility in Germany, and German language classes. Prior work experience is not required; but applicant must have, at a minimum, a related technical certification or two-year degree in a related degree program such as (but not limited to): Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive, Aviation, Diesel, Electrical & Power Controls, Electromechanical, Industrial Systems, Mechatronics, and Wind Energy. A Field Service Technician travels nearly 100% of the time to customer locations throughout the United States installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining printing presses and sub-supplier equipment. The equipment is impressive and complex.

Requirements

  • Technical Certification or Two-year related degree program
  • Ability to travel, live, and work in Germany for up to two six-month periods during the apprenticeship program
  • Must be able to qualify for work permit in Germany
  • Must be able to travel nearly 100% of the time, mostly domestically in the US, once a Field Service Technician
  • Must be willing to relocate outside of Texas within six months of completing Apprentice Program (two-year anniversary) to base location in the US.
