We are currently working with a locally owned, neighborhood-focused grocery store seeking a Meat Cutter / Butcher to join their Meat Department. What's the role? The Apprentice Meat Cutter plays a key role in delivering high-quality, fresh-cut meats to customers while supporting daily operations within the meat department. This is a hands-on role that includes meat preparation, customer service, and maintaining quality and safety standards. The department is small but values craftsmanship, teamwork, and a strong desire to learn. This role can be full-time or part-time. Preferably full-time. What experience and skills do I need to be successful? Previous meat cutting experience preferred but not required Willingness to learn traditional meat cutting techniques through hands-on training Interest in food service, grocery, or meat department operations Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards Dependable, team-oriented work ethic Customer-focused mindset with the ability to assist shoppers as needed Long-term interest in growing within the department is a plus This role may be a great fit for: Individuals looking to learn a skilled trade in a grocery or meat department Experienced meat cutters seeking a different pace or environment Retired meat cutters or managers interested in part-time work Meat Managers, Assistant Meat Managers, or Apprentices interested in long-term growth over the next 3–5 years This position is not suitable for seasonal (J-1 status) employees.
