About The Position

Apprentice Linemen at LiveSAFE Solutions support the construction, maintenance, and restoration of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. This role is designed for individuals committed to learning the trade, developing technical skill, and upholding LiveSAFE’s core values of integrity, accountability, win win partnerships, people driven leadership, and community impact. Apprentices work under the direction of experienced Journey Linemen and Foremen while progressing through a structured training pathway.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Enrollment in or completion of a recognized lineman pre apprenticeship or training program preferred.
  • Ability to climb poles, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL or ability to obtain is preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to changing job demands.
  • Commitment to LiveSAFE’s safety culture and people first values.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in construction, utilities, or outdoor labor.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical theory or power delivery concepts.
  • Exposure to bucket trucks, digger derricks, or utility equipment.
  • Participation in storm response or rapid mobilization work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of distribution power lines and related equipment.
  • Support energized and deenergized work under direct supervision, following all safety protocols.
  • Learn and practice climbing, rigging, grounding, and equipment operation.
  • Help install poles, hardware, transformers, conductors, and underground components.
  • Participate in job briefings, tailboards, and hazard identification.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and trucks in clean, safe working condition.
  • Read and interpret basic construction drawings, maps, and work orders.
  • Respond to storm events and emergency restoration as needed.
  • Demonstrate consistent growth in technical skill, safety awareness, and teamwork.
