  • Assist a crew in the construction, service, and maintenance of electrical distribution services.
  • Demonstrate behavior that supports DREMC's 11 Essential Attributes.
  • Follow established safety rules and precautions, and attend scheduled safety training sessions.
  • Become familiar with the operation of construction vehicles and equipment under close observation.
  • Assist with vehicle and equipment inspections to maintain safety and operational capability.
  • Identify materials required for building and repairing services, including specifications like size and voltage.
  • Use equipment like the 'Extendo Stick' to trip transformers and terminate services under supervision.
  • Learn to operate mobile radio equipment and understand call signs and procedures.
  • Familiarize with residential meters and basic single-phase residential connections.
  • Learn basic pole framing specifications and system voltages.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must complete TVPPA Pre-Apprentice Assessment Workshop or equivalent within six months.
  • Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with Class A or B endorsement within the six-month probationary period.
  • Must be eligible and remain insured as a driver by the Cooperative's group liability policy.
  • Ability to maintain continued education supporting the maintenance of distribution equipment.
