About The Position

This position will teach you how to operate excavation equipment The apprentice assists Equipment Operators by performing assigned tasks under the direct supervision of an assigned Operator or Supervisor Prior to operating equipment, will assist in routine inspections to identify needed maintenance or repairs Maintains records of time worked and materials used Performs other related duties as assigned Competitive wages based on experience 40+ hours per week during spring, summer, and fall

Requirements

• No experience required
• Valid driver's license and must have a clean driving record
• Ability to read construction staking or the willingness to learn
• A basic understanding of plan reading or the willingness to learn
• Basic construction surveying knowledge or the willingness to learn
• Willingness to understand and accept safety standards
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form
• Must maintain flexibility in the schedule during the busy season
• Willingness to work hard and be reliable

Nice To Haves

• Class A license is preferred, however not required
• Knowledge of soils and compaction a plus
