About The Position

Apprentices receive structured training and mentorship in: HVAC systems and components Electrical systems and basic circuitry Mechanical systems and equipment operation Process controls and basic building automation Plumbing systems and troubleshooting Carpentry, general repairs, and facility upkeep Use of basic tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance technology Basic computing (Outlook, Excel, Word) Safe operation of vehicles and equipment (valid driver’s license required) Hands-On Responsibilities Throughout the program, apprentices will gain experience in: Assisting with troubleshooting and repairing building systems, including: Plumbing systems Kitchen equipment HVAC equipment Roofing and drainage components Shop and grounds equipment Packaging and handling machinery Cleaning, lubricating, and servicing pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and electrical/mechanical devices Supporting installation and modification of building equipment and systems Performing basic building finish repairs such as: Ceiling tiles Door hardware Wallpaper Painting walls, piping, floors, and equipment Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance operations and recommending solutions Responding to emergency situations and facility service requests Inspecting buildings and grounds for safety hazards, malfunctioning equipment, and preventative maintenance needs Supporting operation and upkeep of fire and life-safety systems, including: Fire alarms Fire pumps Fire protection equipment Performing general carpentry tasks and seasonal duties such as snow removal Using modern facility technologies: smartphones, tablets, web applications, and building automation systems Maintaining compliance with company safety practices, codes, and regulations Upholding uniform standards and professional appearance Cushman & Wakefield also provides eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health, vision, and dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life, and disability insurance programs, and paid and unpaid time away from work. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
