About The Position

Our Engagement team plays a pivotal and strategic role in our consultancy’s operations to deliver great work, build long-term client relationships, and drive business results. This team creates the conditions for success by inventing new processes and systems, bringing operational rigor, and architecting relationships built on trust. They understand the unique needs and motivations of our clients and our internal teams and continuously identify ways to advocate for both, ensuring projects are successful, on time and of unrivaled quality. During our immersive 10-week apprenticeship experience, Apprentices have the opportunity to contribute and collaborate with project teams, build valuable industry connections and learn new skills from across disciplines. Through close and meaningful work with fellow Protobots, our Apprentices gain deep insight into the work we do. You will learn by doing, with guidance from experienced practitioners, who will help you understand and deliver the activities assigned to you, in the context of interdisciplinary projects.

Requirements

  • Eager to develop skills in production, project management, and client engagement through hands-on enterprise innovation, corporate strategy, and design projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Reliable and responsive, with strong follow-through in a fast-paced team environment
  • Comfortable working with collaboration tools and communication platforms (Slack, Google Suite, AI, Figma, etc.) and willing to experiment with new ones
  • Graduating from undergraduate or graduate level school and available for full-time employment from September 2026
  • Based in the New York metro area for the apprenticeship and available to 40 hours per week continuously throughout a 10 week period [note Proto is closed June 19 and July 3, 2026 over the summer].

Responsibilities

  • Work on client projects and internal assignments, helping to create the action plan and then organizing our team to execute against it
  • Proactively manage details of assigned tasks and identify opportunities to help and look for efficiencies
  • Communicate often, clearly and constructively with team members in Slack, email, and Google Suite tools
  • Continuously anticipate issues and plan for challenges multiple steps ahead
  • Continuously ask your fellow team members questions, like “How can I help?” and “How can I make this better?”
