About The Position

As an Apprentice Electrician at Z-Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, in Chandler, AZ, you will support electrical construction work by assisting with installations, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, follows direction closely, practices strong jobsite safety, and is motivated to grow in the electrical trade.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work in outdoor elements based on job location and season.
  • Ability to maintain required tools onsite at all times.
  • Willingness to apply for and maintain a State of Texas Electrical Apprentice License.
  • Ability to work overtime, night shifts, and extended schedules as required.
  • Commitment to wearing required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, and respirators when required.
  • Strong attention to safety, teamwork, and following instructions in a construction environment.
  • Ability to routinely lift and move heavy objects more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to crawl, stand, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, sit, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to push and pull objects as required for jobsite tasks.
  • Ability to perform repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Ability to work from ladders, including step ladders up to 14 feet and extension ladders.
  • Ability to relocate up to a 12-foot step ladder independently.
  • Ability to work at heights, including up to 90 feet, using ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other approved work areas.
  • Ability to work in restricted spaces such as switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, and attics.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work as a primary job function for more than 70% of the workday.

Responsibilities

  • Assist electricians under direct supervision by handling materials, tools, and jobsite support tasks.
  • Maintain an organized work area by keeping materials, tools, and equipment orderly and clean.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment.
  • Bend conduit to support installation requirements.
  • Install electrical equipment, including switchgear, panels, and starters.
  • Pull and terminate wire to support electrical system installation and repairs.
  • Install light fixtures, lighting controls, and electrical devices of all types.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems under supervision to support repairs and safe operation.
  • Read and follow safety rules, policies, and MSDS documentation as required.
