About The Position

As a LONG Apprentice Controls Technician, you will support customers by troubleshooting and programming temperature control systems hardware and software. This role involves assisting other technicians with installation, warranty, emergency, and maintenance services on installed systems, ensuring customer satisfaction and system efficiency.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and accept responsibility.
• Strong customer service and analytical skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
• Ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
• Aptitude for computer systems or mechanical systems.
• Basic programming and troubleshooting skills.

Nice To Haves

• Already enrolled in the ASP program.
• 1+ years of tech school experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, control systems, and building automation.
• Programming and troubleshooting skills with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell systems.
• Computer programming or electronic technical degree.

Responsibilities

• Help control service Technicians perform calibration and check-out of control systems.
• Assist with inspections and assessments of control systems for physical damage and signs of degradation.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as cleaning, part replacements, and software updates.
• Aid and educate customers about proper function and upkeep of products.
• Effectively communicate with customers to resolve technical issues and answer inquiries.
• Inform customers about necessary replacements or vital repairs.
• Keep records of all repairs and maintenance and report issues to the technical supervisor.
• Work to become proficient in location-specific control software systems.
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
• Enroll in and stay current in the ASP Building Automation Technician Program.
• Participate in on-call work as required.
