Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience as a Building Engineer or equivalent facilities technical trade.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Proficiency with testing equipment including digital multi-meters, pressure/temperature devices, and air flow measuring equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems operations and cross-functional equipment relationships.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency on-call rotation.
  • Must be able to work in both indoor (40%) and outdoor (60%) environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in lab and cleanroom environments.
  • Specific trade licenses applicable to role (Boiler Operator, Maintenance Electrician, EPA CFC Universal Certification, etc.).
  • Previous experience in high-stress, high-demand operational environments.
  • Experience working with vendors for work execution and quality control.
  • Background in mission-critical facility operations or data center environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Building Engineers with system maintenance and repairs.
  • Work with Engineers in the troubleshooting process for system failures, limiting operational down-time, and re-establishes building services.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems for recognizing deficiencies.
  • Implementation of changes to current systems and understanding cross functional equipment operation under the supervision of a Building Engineer.
  • Support equipment operational checks, assist with preventative maintenance task, and support operational engineering duties as the needs of the property and client require.
  • Assist with logs and file tracking, including chemical consumption logs and other equipment or operation inspection logs specific to the property.
  • Assisting with existing system operation and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Support the Lead Engineer and Building Engineers, to ensure quality services are completed on schedule.
  • Assist in implementation of system specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Assist with critical system shutdown and start-up.
  • Provide prompt and courteous response to tenant requests within the guidelines set forth by JLL.
  • Maintain ethical, professional, and courteous relations with contractors and tenants.
  • Demonstrate full competency in all current JLL and property emergency procedures.
  • Actively participate in required training activities and seminars.
  • Apply knowledge of how each of the components in the building systems relates operationally to one another and modify and/or install new system(s) as needed.
  • Identify potential causes for failure of a system(s) and prioritize repair process.
  • Ability to efficiently handle and coordinate multiple task assignments.
  • Interact with employees, visitors, and contractors with poise and diplomacy.
  • Maintain calm demeanor in emergency situations.
