About The Position

Boodleshire Aquatics is seeking an ambitious individual for a paid apprenticeship as an Aquarium Professional. This full-time position offers hands-on training alongside the primary aquarist, focusing on aquarium service, installations, and maintenance. The apprenticeship lasts for one year, with the potential for equity ownership upon successful completion. The role emphasizes learning various methodologies and techniques essential for aquarium care and maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Some experience in the aquarium hobby.
• Strong communication skills and responsiveness.
• Willingness to learn different methodologies and techniques.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Punctuality and time management skills, or willingness to learn.
• Flexibility and adaptability to new situations and challenges.
• Critical thinking skills and a strong desire to grow in the aquarium profession.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the aquarium hobby is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and work with the primary aquarist on servicing, installing, maintaining, and moving client aquariums.
• Support the primary aquarist with office work, inventory management, ordering, and receiving products.
• Contribute to marketing efforts and client acquisition and retention strategies.
• Attend workshops, conferences, tradeshows, and participate in educational opportunities.
• Learn about the various aspects of being an aquarist and adhere to health and safety procedures.
• Complete educational assessments and actively participate in the company's improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and industry experts.
• Maintain accurate records of personal goals and progress.
