About The Position

The successful candidate will complete appraisals on real property to determine value using the cost, income, and sales comparison approaches to value, with the ability to analyze and apply the appropriate methodology. He/She will also provide credit specialists (commercial and mortgage) information to aid in the decision-making process. Develops and maintains comparable sales information. The successful candidate will also complete valuations on personal property collateral. Other duties include but are not limited to: Analyzing and reporting sales data, updating market area surveys, researching water rights, mapping legal descriptions, obtaining property information from various counties, inspecting livestock, feed, and equipment inventories, real property inspections, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a BS degree in an agriculture or business-related field and have some experience in production agriculture.
  • The successful candidate will attend formal appraisal training courses as required by the Appraisal Qualifications Board and gain the required experience hours and examination results to obtain a Certified General Appraiser license in the State of Utah.
  • Applicants will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to generate highly accurate work.
  • Must also demonstrate proficiency in the use of a PC, including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and appraisal-related software.
  • Applicants must have a sound understanding of production agriculture practices, including familiarity with the crops and livestock types typical to the area.
  • Applicants must have the ability to interact effectively and work well with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Applicants must represent the Association to customers and the public in a positive and professional manner.
  • Applicants must have strong planning and organization skills, be self-motivated, and have a strong work ethic.
  • He/She must also have strong analytical skills, be decisive, and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Mobility on unimproved properties and ability to lift 40 pounds or more required.
  • Some travel is required in the performance of duties.
