Under limited Supervision, responsible for providing customer service and helping to meet individual and store Appraisal Buy goals. The role involves providing exceptional service throughout the customer's experience, establishing rapport quickly with all types of customers, and demonstrating confidence in the CarMax appraisal process. The Appraisal Specialist communicates effectively both in-person and over the phone to discover the customer's motivation to sell their car and follows up with customers still deciding. They serve as an advocate for CarMax by sharing what makes the company the smart choice and facilitate steps of the appraisal process, such as discovery, delivering appraisal offers, and overcoming objections. The position requires the ability to cope with pressure and difficult situations while maintaining a positive and energetic experience for customers. Additionally, the specialist maintains a working knowledge of CarMax products and transitions customers to the proper team if additional opportunities are discovered. They collect and transcribe data to accurately input information for the appraisal offer and seek out opportunities for self-development, participating in training and welcoming feedback. The role is set in a fast-paced environment, requiring high energy to engage with multiple customers an hour, while building and maintaining strong relationships and demonstrating excellent teamwork.
