About The Position

The Appraisal Review Coordinator is a senior executive role within the Florida Department of Revenue's Property Tax Oversight program. This position is responsible for managing and directing appraisal review processes, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and providing leadership in continuous quality improvement initiatives. The coordinator will oversee staff training, develop resource plans, and establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of appraisal review activities.

Requirements

• Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
• Four years of tax administration experience.
• Two years of property tax administration experience.
• Experience developing or reviewing real property commercial appraisals.
• Public speaking experience.

Nice To Haves

• Department of Revenue designation (Certified Florida Evaluator and/or Certified Florida Collector Assistant)
• International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) designation
• State certified appraiser (Residential and/or Commercial)
• Completion of any IAAO courses
• Completion of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) course.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the Real Property Appraisal Review sub-process activities.
• Develop and deliver appraisal review training for staff.
• Annually develop risk-based resource plans for conducting appraisal reviews.
• Coordinate with the Revenue Program Administrator I on personnel work activities.
• Establish effective metrics to measure progress of appraisal review activities.
• Analyze review findings and provide training recommendations for appraisers and reviewers.
• Work for continuous quality improvement of the appraisal review process.
• Provide leadership in PTO and Appraisal Review process improvement projects.
