About The Position

The Appraisal Coordinator at loanDepot plays a crucial role in the mortgage industry by managing the logistics of property appraisals. This position is responsible for ensuring timely scheduling and effective communication between appraisers, lenders, and borrowers. The Appraisal Coordinator coordinates appointments, reviews appraisal reports for accuracy, and addresses any discrepancies that may arise, all to facilitate smooth loan processing. This role requires a proactive approach to managing relationships with various stakeholders, including Branch/Regional Production and Operations team members, Appraisers, and Appraisal Management Companies (AMC) throughout the appraisal life cycle. In this position, the Appraisal Coordinator will order appraisal services in accordance with department policies and procedures, tracking each order through to delivery while emphasizing the importance of meeting Close of Escrow or Appraisal Contingencies. The coordinator will manage multiple reports and queues to ensure effective pipeline management and to identify or escalate issues related to order delivery in compliance with departmental standards. Continuous monitoring and follow-up with all stakeholders are essential to ensure timely delivery and to communicate any changes that may occur. The Appraisal Coordinator will analyze requests using their knowledge of regulations and appraisal policies to determine the completeness and appropriateness of requests based on property type, ownership interest, value scenarios, and loan type. This role requires prioritizing and balancing daily workloads while escalating issues for management attention when necessary. The coordinator serves as the primary operator of the appraisal tracking system, ensuring that all jobs are correctly logged, monitored, and logged out. Effective communication with internal and external customers regarding file status is vital, including heavy phone communication and relationship building with the panel of vendors. The Appraisal Coordinator must ensure that all communication with customers is accurate, timely, and professional, adhering to company standards.
