About The Position

The Appraisal Analyst at City National Bank is responsible for making decisions on collateral related to residential real estate, ensuring that appraisals and evaluations comply with regulatory standards and internal policies. This role involves reviewing and managing appraisal workflows, analyzing appraisal reports, and maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma
• Minimum 2 years of recent appraisal review and/or underwriting experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Associates Degree preferred (concentration in Business, Real Estate or Finance) or 3 years equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of real property, terms, types of ownership in real estate, deeds, mortgages, etc.
• Working knowledge of RIMS is preferred.
• Real Estate Appraisal Analysis experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) preferred.
• Knowledge of lending operations and/or appraisal department policies and procedures.
• Familiar with secondary market collateral guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reviews of appraisals and other valuation products, approving or declining reports for various property types.
• Analyze the reasonableness of appraisals to confirm reported values for financing purposes.
• Maintain knowledge of and adhere to internal compliance policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Complete all required compliance training and stay updated with changing regulations.
• Maintain appraisal training and development education.
• Work closely with the Chief Residential Appraiser and other staff in the Residential Appraisal Department.
• Perform other responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader or senior management.
