About The Position

Responsible for transportation to all appointments and coordinating with the Appointment Specialist about information for the appointment.

Requirements

  • Maintain reliable transportation available for use during working hours, valid driver’s license and provide proof of automobile liability coverage.
  • Possess an excellent driving record.
  • Obtain and maintain KCARC authorization to drive agency vehicles.
  • Maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department.
  • Must have a working understanding of HIPPA and maintain participant’s privacy.
  • Maintain good hygiene.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Use tact and empathy when dealing with people of varied backgrounds.
  • Establish effective working relationships.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • Be proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office products (Computer literate).
  • Accept responsibility and demonstrate leadership.
  • Be able to effectively work in a sometimes fast paced environment.
  • Any changes in qualifications status must be reported to Human Resources immediately.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Medication Administration: Core A and Core B
  • CPR/First Aid

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transport clients to all appointments.
  • Communicate appropriate information to doctors.
  • Ensure Medical Information Form is completed at the appointment.
  • Notify Pharmacy Specialist immediately if a new medication is ordered.
  • Assist with printing compliance paperwork for the compliance label books.
  • Complete Individual Specific Trainings as they are updated.
  • Track and monitor weights and calorie counts.
  • Participate in the ER on call rotation.
  • Assist participants with personal care when transporting them to scheduled appointments.
  • When representing KCARC, communicate with professionals in a knowledgeable and positive manner.
  • Maintain updated folders with information that can be used as a quick reference tool.
  • Report vehicle maintenance problems to designee immediately.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude at all times.
  • Maintain neat, clean, professional appearance.
  • Administer medications as directed.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds independently and over 75 pounds with assistance.
  • All other duties as deemed necessary.
  • Additional hours if needed are mandatory
