About The Position

GAP is the longest established gastroenterology practice in the Piedmont Triad area. This independent, physician-owned GI practice is looking for Appointment Schedulers. GAP evaluates new patients, performs consultations and conducts follow-up visits for chronic gastrointestinal conditions. Our offices draw and assess labs, administer injections and monitor medication therapies. We offer on-site infusion services and our clinical staff assist with a variety of in-office procedures. When appropriate, GAP schedules appointments for outpatient screening, diagnostic and/or treatment procedures. Our endoscopy centers are physician-owned outpatient ambulatory surgical centers which specialize in colon cancer screening and prevention as well as a number of other procedures including endoscopy and Interstim Bowel Control Therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the phone with a smile and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Support team efforts to accomplish goals.
  • Represent physicians by screening and routing incoming telephone calls.
  • Record and transmit messages.
  • Schedule, receive, and announce scheduled patients and visitors.
  • Screen unscheduled patients and visitors.
  • Schedule appointments for consultations and procedures.
  • Ensure physician productivity by scheduling patient appointments and consultations.
  • Notify supervisor of discrepancies in schedules.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Cross train to provide coverage for other administrative positions.
  • Maintain quality results by following and enforcing standards.
  • Serve and protect the health care community by adhering to professional standards, office policies and procedures, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Enhance physician office reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with staff and members of other departments.
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies.
  • Comply with safety and infection control policies.
  • Participate actively in all staff meetings.
  • Contribute to management of office.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required by management.
