About The Position

DoveLewis Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is hiring full-time entry level Veterinary Assistants (Level 1) to join ourAppointment-Based Surgery Team. As a Surgery Veterinary Assistant (Level 1), you will be responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the surgery department, assisting with surgeries, and post-operative care. This position may also perform work as a Veterinary Assistant 1 in the ICU or ER. A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, as is an appreciation of the human-animal bond. Wage: $19-$22 hourly, plus overnight and weekend differential for applicable shifts. Schedule: Appointment-Based Surgery Veterinary Assistants (Level 1) will work four 10 hour shifts. The proposed schedule for this service is every Monday-Thursday, 7a-7p. Specific shift details are still being determined. What are we looking for in a candidate? Experience or education equivalent to a High School Diploma Valid Oregon or Washington driver's license for driving the DoveLewis transport van is strongly preferred 1+ year experience working in animal care work such as at a veterinary clinic, kennel, shelter, or animal daycare Experience working in sterile fields Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above What you can look forward to at DoveLewis: We live up to our mission of providing the best emergency, critical, and specialty care to our patients.
