About The Position

The AWS Marketplace & Partner Services Science team seeks an Applied Scientist
to drive innovation across multiple AI domains, including Context Engineering in
Agent-based Systems, Agent Evaluations, and Next-generation Recommendations.
This role will be instrumental in revolutionizing how customers discover
solutions for cloud migrations and modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical audience

Nice To Haves

• Deep expertise in state-of-the-art AI approaches, particularly in agent-based architectures, evaluation of LLMs and AI systems, deep learning, and reinforcement learning
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Track record of delivering production-scale AI solutions
• Experience collaborating with UX, Product, and technical partners

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and deploy solutions for large language models and agent-based systems, by employing a wide range of methodologies, working from simple to complex
• Establish innovative and useful evaluation strategies for measuring agent performance and effectiveness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Product and Engineering leaders, to translate scientific innovations into customer value
• Publishing research or contributing to internal/external publications
• Contribute to initiatives that employ the most recent advances in ML/AI in a fast-paced, experimental environment
