About The Position

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Ohio State is looking for a semiconductor fab and test (STF) engineer with experience in opto-electronic test and fabrication using cleanroom tools of photonic semiconductor infrared detectors. The STF Engineer position is crucial for driving forward the department's research program in semiconductor materials and devices. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the academic and research excellence of the Department. The primary focus will be on test and fabrication of semiconductor devices, and most work will be project oriented with funded research programs defining projects. The STF Engineer will lead and independently complete work in the fabrication and test of semiconductor devices. Connected to this work, the STF Engineer will effectively communicate their results to internal and external audiences; train graduate and undergraduate students; support proposals and project planning; engage with faculty, research collaborators, sponsors, and vendors The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Ohio State is looking for a semiconductor test and fab (STF) engineer with experience in test and fabrication and opto-electronic testing of photonic semiconductor infrared detectors. Connected to this work, the STF Engineer will effectively maintain the test, measurement and characterization tools; establish processes to oversee a user access facility; communicate their results to internal and external audiences; train graduate and undergraduate students; support proposals and project planning; engage with faculty, research collaborators, sponsors, and vendors. The combination of research expertise, technology know-how, effective management, and broad collaboration makes this role integral to maintaining the department's reputation for cutting-edge research. The STF Engineer will be working closely with the research members in the Krishna Infrared Detector Lab (KIND lab, www.kind.engineering.osu.edu). Through research in infrared detection and imaging, the KIND lab trains and educates engineers, advances the frontiers of science, and develops next generation technologies.
