The University of Texas at Austin, Department of Educational Psychology is seeking a tenure-track, open-rank faculty member in the Quantitative Methods program in the area of Applied Data Analytics. The faculty will conduct research related to applied data analytic techniques used to improve educational and health outcomes, such as data mining, predictive modeling, and text analytics. The mission of the Quantitative Methods program is to offer training in modern statistical and psychometric methods to prepare graduates to advance methodological research and to apply these methods to address educational, health, and social science research questions. We are committed to an intellectually diverse, welcoming and engaging working and learning environment and are seeking candidates whose research, teaching and service have prepared them to contribute to serving students and communities across Texas, the country, and the world.

  • Conduct research related to applied data analytic techniques used to improve educational and health outcomes.
  • Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Secure extramural research funding.
  • Contribute to the mission of the Quantitative Methods program.
  • Ph.D. in Data Science, Data Analytics, Quantitative Methods, Quantitative Psychology, Statistics, Applied Statistics, or a closely related field earned by July 31, 2026.
  • Strong potential or proven record in scholarly leadership and teaching in Applied Data Analytics.
  • Experience or capacity to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Proven record in securing extramural research funding.
  • Experience in data mining, text analytics, dynamic data analytics, social network analysis, and/or data ethics and management.
  • Access to outstanding opportunities for collaboration with world-renowned medical faculty.
  • Engagement in a diverse and inclusive academic community.
