About The Position

You think about how cryptographic primitives can be used for secure computation and storage of data and have opinions on how these various primitives will change with newer advances in computing and algorithms. Understand the principles that go into designing robust and adaptive cryptographic systems. Are able to identify potential flaws in a given cryptographic scheme.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • A Computer Science degree from a credentialed institution (preferably a Masters or a Ph.D.)
  • Contribution to research in distributed systems (A paper, a research codebase, talks)
  • Code repositories you've developed demonstrating your skills and capabilities
  • Designing and implementing smart contract systems that use cryptographic techniques to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data stored on the blockchain.
  • Developing cryptographic protocols to enable secure communication between different blockchain networks and other decentralized systems.
  • Designing and implementing privacy-enhancing technologies, such as zero-knowledge proofs, to enable secure transactions and communication on the blockchain while preserving users' privacy.
  • Building secure wallets, key management systems and other tools to enable users to manage their cryptographic keys and digital assets securely.
  • Analyzing and evaluating the security of existing decentralized systems and identifying potential vulnerabilities or weaknesses that need to be addressed.
  • Researching and developing new cryptographic techniques to address emerging security challenges in the web3 space.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing secure communication systems using cryptographic techniques
  • Choosing appropriate encryption algorithms and protocols
  • Ensuring that systems are secure against various attack scenarios
  • Analyzing and evaluating the security of existing systems
  • Developing new cryptographic techniques to address emerging security challenges
  • Working with other security professionals to integrate cryptographic solutions into larger security systems.
