About The Position

The Behavior Technician (ABA Therapist) at Hope Discovery ABA Services is responsible for providing clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities. This role involves direct client care under the supervision of a BCBA or QBHP, data collection on client behavior, and effective communication with parents and caregivers regarding client progress. The position requires a commitment to ongoing training and adherence to ethical standards in behavior analysis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate expressly/receptively
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members
  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology
  • Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols as written
  • Must maintain a professional appearance regarding clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children ages 0-18 providing in a classroom or 1:1 setting
  • Experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • RBT certificate or higher BACB certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client care under the supervision of a BCBA or QBHP for at least one hour for every 10 hours of direct service
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Assist Behavior Analysts in preparing client materials as instructed
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
