We're looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join the Corporate Engineering team and help build the future of Planet digital employee experience. In this role, you'll focus on leveraging AI to dramatically improve how our employees work. You will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered solutions that enhance productivity, streamline business workflows, and automate complex internal processes across the entire organization. This is a hands-on technical role where you will work with various teams to identify key opportunities for AI integration, from optimizing data retrieval and analysis to building custom AI agents that assist employees with their daily tasks. You'll be a key player in transforming our internal operations through innovative technology. This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.

  • Lead the AI for internal productivity roadmap by helping identify and implement AI solutions that improve efficiency and reduce friction for our employees.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on applied AI and its potential applications.
  • Design, build, and deploy AI solutions and applications that address specific internal business needs, particularly enterprise productivity.
  • Focus areas include natural language processing (NLP), semantic search, intelligent automation for key enterprise processes, and custom chatbot development.
  • Work with our existing Enterprise Systems (e.g., Google Workspace, Gemini App, Notebook LM, Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, Salesforce, Jira, Confluence) to seamlessly integrate AI capabilities.
  • Manage APIs and data connectors to ensure smooth operation.
  • Build metric dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the impact, adoption, and value of deployed AI agents and solutions.
  • Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to implement best practices for data privacy, model accuracy, and security in all AI solutions.
  • 10+ years of experience in a solution engineering/architecture or technical product management role, with a focus on digital employee experience and intelligent automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Gen AI tools like Gemini App, Vertex AI or similar tech.
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and related technologies (e.g., vector databases, RAG architectures, prompt engineering).
  • Solid understanding of system architecture and APIs.
  • Expertise in using tools like Looker, Power BI or similar to create clear and compelling dashboards.
  • Ability to identify business challenges and translate them into effective, scalable AI solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing Agentic AI platforms such as Glean, Moveworks, Vertex AI, Agent Force, or Agent Space.
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python.
