About The Position

The Applications Scientist - qPCR at Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) plays a crucial role in providing technical support for qPCR products. This position involves engaging with customers to address their inquiries, troubleshooting product applications, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving. The role is integral to supporting the scientific applications team and enhancing the customer experience with IDT's genomics offerings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry) or related scientific field.
• 5+ years of experience with genomics applications in an industry or academic research laboratory environment.
• Advanced theoretical knowledge and practical experience in PCR, quantitative RT-PCR, and digital PCR/ddPCR technologies.
• Extensive understanding and experience in PCR and qPCR/ddPCR protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify key issues, and solve problems using critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• M.S or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (biology, biochemistry, molecular biology).
• 2+ years of experience as a Scientific Applications Scientist or in a customer-facing scientific support role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with and support customers to provide pre- and post-sales technical support for qPCR products.
• Answer PCR and qPCR-related customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat, documenting all interactions in the CRM database.
• Handle the intake and completion of custom design requests for PCR, qPCR, and dPCR applications.
• Troubleshoot product use and applications using customer data and IDT's sales and manufacturing databases.
• Serve as dedicated support for targeted or strategic customers using IDT's qPCR products.
• Support the complaint triage and investigation process, assisting with complaint resolution by determining the cause of the problem and selecting the best solution.
