About The Position

The Applications Programmer position at the U.S. Courts is a permanent role focused on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing applications for the Federal Circuit's Innovation Center. The incumbent will be responsible for creating digital content, developing interactive touchscreen applications, and managing various software and databases to improve user experience and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience with major programming languages (e.g., C#, Python, JavaScript).
• Minimum of two years of progressively responsible IT experience for CL-27 candidates.
• Minimum of four years of progressively responsible IT experience for CL-28 candidates.
• Experience in software/application development, including mentoring and leading technical teams.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Power Platform, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Windows Server 2019/2022 and Red Hat Linux Server 7/8 operating systems.
• Experience working in the information technology field for the federal judiciary.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the support, maintenance, and enhancement of all Innovation Center applications.
• Develop interactive touchscreen content using a content management system.
• Automate processes and create mobile/responsive websites and applications.
• Maintain and troubleshoot databases and software related to the Innovation Center.
• Review, update, and maintain the Innovation Center website and internal library systems.
• Communicate effectively with judges, chambers staff, and management regarding circuit operations.
• Develop and maintain written procedures for assigned functions.
