The Applications Manager- Great Lakes role provides leadership, performance management, coaching, and mentoring of the Application Specialists. Working with the Director of Applications, Sales, Regional Sales Managers, and Regional Service Managers, and the Applications Managers. The Applications Manager- Great Lakes will manage a high-performance team that provides in-field technical applications support for Leica Biosystems’ current and future range of products and services. He / She will directly support accounts within a designated region and as required in other areas across the US. In addition, he or she will support the achievement of the U.S. Sales Unit’s annual sales and margin objectives while ensuring an optimized customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in people management (direct reports)
  • 3+ years' experience in field technical support.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • 70% travel

  • Understanding of IHC and Histology marketplace or a related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Drive achievement of sales goals and support sales growth by collaborating with regional teams and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Organize and deliver training for staff on safety, operational procedures, and equipment use.
  • Lead the introduction of new products and coordinate participation in key sales meetings and events.
  • Develop and implement onboarding, training, and standard work programs for Application Specialists and critical account management.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development for Application Specialists, including incentive plan participation.
  • Manage and resolve customer escalations, ensuring satisfaction and regulatory compliance
